We currently have a vacancy for a dedicated full time qualified Veterinary Nurse.

You will be responsible for the efficient running of our Veterinary Surgery, and your surgical experience will provide strong assistance to our Veterinary Clinic Manager.

You will also play a vital part in finalizing the adoption process, ensuring our shelter animals are adopted into suitable homes. You will provide a comprehensive consultation to new owners, educating in relation to ongoing care, advising of any health issues they need to be aware of, and offering any other advice and assistance that is relevant.

Weekend availability is essential. This is a full time permanent role. A Drivers Licence is also essential as there may be some driving between our shelters.

Candidates who do not possess the formal qualifications will not have the necessary experience to perform this role.

A Criminal History (Police) check and Blue Card (Working with Children) will be required for all successful candidates.

All staff at this clinic are encouraged to expand their knowledge base and learn new skills to be part of an exciting young team that aims to provide excellent customer service and professional care to the clients and their pets. The practice also runs puppy pre-school with an accredited Delta dog trainer. The successful applicant will need to be outgoing and confident in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including reception and surgery duties, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The nurse will need to be enthusiastic, well-presented, friendly, confident and happy to participate in all aspects of a veterinary practice. They will preferably have completed or be enrolled in Certificate IV or have some clinical experience. The placement of IV catheters, intubation, anaesthetic monitoring, Doppler blood pressure measurements and nurse consultations will be part of their daily duties, and they will be always striving to do their best for the clients, the animals and the clinic.

Senior Nurse and/or Practice/Reception manager role! Our client is a 1 vet, 100% SA practice, 3o min north of Melbourne city centre. This is an unusual opportunity in that the client is looking for a broad range of skills and can adjust the vacancy to fit the best person for the job! This clinic is based in a busy local town centre and has excellent transport through to Melbourne CBD, making this an attractive location. The clinic is well equipped having on site pulse ox, xray & automatic processor, dental scalers, centrifuge, hydrobath, endoscope, infusion pumps and carries out laser surgery. The clinic prides itself in working closely with local rescue centres and around 20% of its work is associated directly with these centres, giving great job satisfaction every day. The clinic is currently a single vet practice with a view to shortly expand to two vets.

In an ideal world we are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse, who has an interest beyond the clinical focus, who would be instrumental in helping to shape and develop this clinic as it grows and develops. However there is scope to consider a candidate coming into the industry with the right customer service and business interest who would enjoy learning the clinical skills. Our client needs a good all rounder with skills ranging from clinical work, through to customer service/reception, marketing and administration. Our client is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and become an integral part of the practice for the future. This is a full time role that does involve a share of after hours although this is quiet with very low volume of calls.

• The primary responsibilities of this position include:
• Driving the clinic strategy throughout the business in areas such as client and patient care, human resources and financial management
• Overseeing the day to day operations of the practice
• Ensuring compliance with Group policies and procedures
• Leading the team of veterinarians in both surgical and medical best practice and undertaking procedures where necessary.
