Our client is a dedicated Veterinary Emergency Centre looking for highly motivated, experienced veterinary nurses for part time positions, and aiming for cheerful team workers who possesses the confidence to work efficiently on their own! The part-time role is approximately 20-30 hours a week, and encompasses evening, night and weekend/public holiday shifts, although the flexibility to help cover more shifts for CPD/leave would be helpful. It's also possible that these positions could go full time in the near future. Whilst the main focus of this role is within the emergency centre, opportunities to work within the specialist & referral hospital day nursing team from time to time are also available to provide further clinical experience. Duties include general and intensive care nursing of both emergency and hospitalized specialist patients. You will also be involved in hands-on clinical work assisting the veterinary surgeon with anaesthesia, surgery and clinical procedures, therefore providing exposure to a varied and interesting case load. Our client's nurses take an active part in the clinical evaluation and treatment of their patients, so nursing skills will be utilized to their full potential. CPD is actively encouraged, and the opportunity to further study for the Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (Emergency & Critical Care) is also available for qualified nurses. Remuneration is above average and after hours shifts attract penalty rates. Our client would prefer applicants to hold a minimum of a Cert IV in Veterinary nursing or be working towards qualifications, however unqualified but experienced nurses will also be considered.
