We currently have a vacancy for a dedicated full time qualified Veterinary Nurse. This is a great opportunity for a skilled communicator who understands our values and is passionate about responsible pet ownership. You will be responsible for the efficient running of our Veterinary Surgery, and your surgical experience will provide strong assistance to our Veterinary Clinic Manager. You will also play a vital part in finalizing the adoption process, ensuring our shelter animals are adopted into suitable homes. You will provide a comprehensive consultation to new owners, educating in relation to ongoing care, advising of any health issues they need to be aware of, and offering any other advice and assistance that is relevant. The successful applicant will have; *a warm, friendly and caring attitude *a high level of experience in veterinary clinic operations, and the ability to provide knowledgeable advice *the ability to provide quality customer service, including follow up *the maturity to professionally liaise with a broad customer base *demonstrated experience working within a shelter environment Weekend availability is essential. This is a full time permanent role. A Drivers Licence is also essential as there may be some driving between our shelters. Candidates who do not possess the formal qualifications will not have the necessary experience to perform this role. - Vet Nurse Job No. 10327 MELBOURNE Experienced veterinary nurse required for small animal clinic aiming to provide excellent customer service and professional care to clients and their pets. Hours are 8am-1.30pm or 11am-7.15pm shifts alternating each day plus every second Saturday 8.30am-1pm. Clinic makes use of Vision VPM software, an Agen machine for in-house pathology, a Lifesense and Nonin monitor to measure SpO2/CO2/respiration, automatic x-ray processor, an ultrasound and a Doppler. All staff at this clinic are encouraged to expand their knowledge base and learn new skills to be part of an exciting young team that aims to provide excellent customer service and professional care to the clients and their pets. The practice also runs puppy pre-school with an accredited Delta dog trainer. The successful applicant will need to be outgoing and confident in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including reception and surgery duties, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. The nurse will need to be enthusiastic, well-presented, friendly, confident and happy to participate in all aspects of a veterinary practice. They will preferably have completed or be enrolled in Certificate IV or have some clinical experience. The placement of IV catheters, intubation, anaesthetic monitoring, Doppler blood pressure measurements and nurse consultations will be part of their daily duties, and they will be always striving to do their best for the clients, the animals and the clinic.

This is a part-time position with our client being very flexible in terms of hours and days worked, you may prefer to work a couple of hours everyday or a couple of days a week.
