Vet Job No. 10309
SA - Adelaide FIFTH FULLTIME VETERINARIAN / PARTNER WANTED
So Why Come And Work With Us?
Let’s face it, most job ads offer pretty much the same “promises” but we all have concerns about “what it’s really like to work there”. Right?
So we asked our veterinarians what they thought the main benefits were of working here and this is what they said.
“I think the main benefits, certainly from my point of view is the ability to practice to a very high standard and have the opportunity to learn in a friendly environment. The other major plus point is feeling valued as a member of staff. So many bosses/partners will only communicate with you regarding your work when it is something negative rather than also highlighting the positive things you are doing. I think it’s so important to feel valued especially in this profession where it’s very easy to become depressed/stressed. Talking to friends in my year, that is the main issue they have with their bosses - lack of communication unless they have done something wrong and it’s very easy to then lose confidence and enjoyment of your job. So in summary, it is a friendly practice that values its staff and practices medicine to a very high standard and encourages a passion for the profession that few jobs unfortunately do. “ Dr. Jennifer Gray
“ I would stress that our nurses are highly qualified as I feel this is a huge benefit to us as vets.
I would also mention that the environment is very supportive and although every vet will have primary case responsibility, there is always another doctor around to confer with if needed. I feel this is one of the best aspects of working here and one of the most valuable both for us as vets and for our clients. Even now after 4 years, the supportive work environment is still extremely important and my job satisfaction depends on it. Most of the staff members get along so well that we will plan social events with each other which creates more of a friendly and "family" atmosphere.” Dr. Kat Oberle
Will You Fit In?
All of our team share a few things in common – namely a real passion for their work, a great attitude & a great work ethic that not only includes working hard but also working as a team. They all come to work not because they have to but because they want to & because they want to work here.
What Do We Stand For?
We believe in offering the very best healthcare in an innovative, professional, caring, enjoyable, consistent and value for money way. That’s why all our wellness procedures are discounted to remain competitive but also include pre-G.A.s and I.V. fluids as standard. And our standard consults are 20 minutes long or 30 minutes for new clients. And that’s why we have a large number of qualified veterinary nurses and dedicated Client Relations team members. We were the first Practice in Adelaide to offer Kitten Kindy, one of the few to offer acupuncture– and the first hospital to offer Medivets’ Stem Cell Therapy : we have now performed 16 stem cell treatments on cats & dogs in the last 8 months, and the results are outstanding. And lastly, that’s why we have some really great clients that want to do the best by their pets and say “Yes” to our treatment recommendations.
What’s Our Most Important Asset?
You….we can only offer an outstanding healthcare and service experience by employing the cream of the crop. We believe that passionate people want to work with passionate people and that they want to be treated with respect, fairness and with their professional goals catered for. So as an ongoing commitment to a positive culture both Practice Partners are currently undertaking a 12-Month Executive Leadership Course with The Lincoln Institute and are both are fans of the Positive Psychology Movement founded by Dr. Martin Seligman. We believe that focusing on people’s strengths rather than their weakness encourages everyone to flourish. And we also believe that great leadership has to come from the top and then filter all the way through the Practice.
How Do We All Stay In Touch?
Dr. Chris Lee runs fortnightly vet meetings where both clinical & non-clinical issues are discussed in an informal setting. And all the team get together once a month for a three-hour Practice Meeting on a Wednesday afternoon from 1- 4 p.m. to receive Practice updates, clinical updates and training sessions on a number of different topics. Socially there always seems to be something going on with many of the team catching up outside of work to play squash, go scuba diving, fishing or relax at the pub or work-out to Zumba!
